Boutique School Photography Parent Guide
Hi There!
I am so excited to be returning to photograph the children at First Grace!
I just know you're going to love these genuine images of your precious little one! This page is designed to give you some helpful information to make your photo experience easy and convenient!
What makes this photography different?
My goal during my short time with your child is not to force a cheesy smile. I'm looking for natural expressions, which will range from serious and pensive to sweet and silly. The solid gray background keeps the focus solely on the child's face and expression.
I will chat and interact with your child during our time together to elicit genuine expressions. For an extra fun time, have your child come prepared with a joke for ME! :)
What should my child wear?
These images are shot against a solid gray backdrop.
Almost all colors work well! Just want to avoid tops that have large graphics, logos, or print. And please no neon colors!
For girls, small bows, headbands or barretts at the side of the head photograph better than large bows on top of the head.
Small details at the sleeves, neck, and collar photograph well for these sessions. You can also think about a top that makes your child's eye color pop! Consider allowing your child to select a favorite outfit within these parameters to capture even more of their personality!
When will my child be photographed?
Photos are scheduled for the following mornings:
Wednesday, Nov 5 (downstairs classrooms)
Thursday, Nov 6 (upstairs classrooms)
Please check with your child’s teacher for your scheduled day!
i have more than one child at the school. can they be photographed together?
Yes! Siblings will be photographed by sign-up only. Please sign up at the bottom of this page!
The $20 session fee includes the session only. Digital images and prints may be purchased after receiving your gallery.
**Please note: Babies must be sitting up independently to participate in a group sibling photo.
Only siblings who have signed up in advance will be photographed together.
Do i need to sign up for my child to be photographed individually?
Nope! All children who attend the preschool will be photographed individually. The only sign-ups that are required are for siblings who will be photographed together. (Siblings are still photographed individually as well.)
I have other children who do not attend first grace. can i bring them to be photographed?
Yes! You will need to sign up below! Be sure to use the non-FG child add-on for this purpose!
HOW DO THE SIBLING PHOTOS WORK?
If all the children being photographed attend First Grace, select a time AFTER 9:00am on a day all your children attend school. You will bring your child to school like normal and do NOT need to be present for the photos. We will pull the siblings from their class for photos when it is time.
If all the children being photographed do NOT attend First Grace, select a time BEFORE 8:00am on Nov 5 or Nov 6. You will bring your children to the school at that particular time to be photographed together.
If you have a child who does not attend First Grace that you would like photographed individually along with the sibling photos, be sure to click the non-FG child add-on in the form below.
**Please note: Babies must be sitting up independently to participate in a group sibling photo.
When can I expect to see our photos?
Your child's proofs will arrive to your email via a private online gallery within 3 weeks of photo day. You will have 2-5 images in both color and black and white to select from.
Please be sure the school has a valid email address for you so you don’t miss seeing your child’s photos!
How does ordering work?
After you receive your online gallery, you will have 7 days to place your order. Everything is viewed, ordered, and paid online, so there are no paper order forms to keep up with. You will have the option to purchase prints, canvases, and digital images with printing rights.
Grandparents and other relatives may also place orders through the digital gallery!
One MORE thing . . .
Your child's privacy is important to me!
I occasionally like to post a sneak peek on social media from my photo day at a particular school or add new kids' photos to my website and marketing materials. If you would be willing to give me permission to include your child's photo (never any names) for these purposes, please complete the following release form. Thank you so much!
